The ideal Project Superintendent is responsible for ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, oversee construction projects safely and efficiently, and handle budgets, scheduling, and safety management.
The role requires regular attendance and involves managing and scheduling all personnel, subcontractors, equipment, and materials for maximum efficiency. The Project Superintendent must communicate project details effectively, monitor progress, enforce safety plans, and provide daily reports to supervisors.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of the construction industry.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and stressful situations effectively.
- Experience handling and updating forecasts, ensuring timely material and equipment orders, and addressing issues proactively.
- Must understand contractual obligations, assist with billing, monitor job costs, and collaborate with the Project Manager to control and minimize any cost overruns.
- Interact professionally with the Owner’s representatives.
Success in this role involves timely completion of projects within budget, effective supervision of personnel, and adherence to safety and company protocols.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
- Must be able to work overtime and be flexible with hours (daytime/nighttime).
- Ability to work outside in all seasons.
- Must have a “safety first” attitude - strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures is required.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- High school diploma.
- Seven or more years’ experience in areas of Construction including but not limited to Earthwork , Concrete Paving, Underground Pipe, MSE Walls, Asphalt Paving, Base Courses, Soil Stabilization and Project Coordination with Engineers, Owners, and Project Managers.
- Five years TxDOT or other DOT experience as a Project Superintendent.
- Familiarity with MS Office Programs, HCSS, Heavy Job.
